macEQ processes audio locally on your Mac. Nothing is recorded, stored, or sent anywhere.
macEQ requests Screen & System Audio Recording access so it can receive system audio from apps such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, browsers, media players, and other audio-producing apps.
This access is used only to apply real-time equalizer and audio effects on your Mac.
macEQ processes audio locally on the device. macEQ does not record, save, store, upload, transmit, sell, or share captured audio.
macEQ does not capture screen contents. The macOS permission may appear under Screen & System Audio Recording because macOS groups system audio recording under that privacy area.
macEQ does not collect personal data, listening history, audio content, screen content, analytics, advertising identifiers, or tracking data.
macEQ does not require an internet connection for equalizer, spatial, or effects processing.
You can enable or disable System EQ at any time from the macEQ window. Disabling System EQ restores normal system audio routing.
You can revoke macEQ's audio recording permission in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Screen & System Audio Recording.
